Aimi Hayashi

Aimi Hayashi (°1994, Japan) is a Japanese-Chinese architect with over six years of professional experience. Born and grew up in Tokyo and currently based in Hasselt Belgium. With her multicultural background, she approaches architecture as a narrative that connects people, space, and time, rather than simply as the construction of buildings.

After obtaining a Master of Engineering (Architecture) from Meiji University in Tokyo in 2018, she joined Kengo Kuma and Associates, while also pursuing independent projects outside the office. Her strength lies in human-scale design and hands-on work, yet her portfolio spans a wide range of projects, including public buildings, hospitality, retail, and international competitions.

Drawn by her interest in Flemish artistic landscape, Aimi moved to Belgium and completed a Master of Interior Architecture (Adaptive Reuse) at Hasselt University, where she developed a deeper enthusiasm for the architectural practices in the region. She now seeks to continue her professional journey and looks forward to opportunities of local collaboration.
